‘I didn’t barbe my hair for marriage rites’ – Jarvis debunks rumours she barbed hair for wedding rites

TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has debunked claims that she shaved her hair as part of a traditional marriage rite ahead of her wedding to fellow content creator Peller.

Jarvis addressed the speculation in a video broadcast, explaining that she decided to cut her hair based on the recommendation of her hairstylist and not because of any cultural wedding ritual.

She said she wanted her hair installation to look perfect and needed to cut her hair because of its texture and the difficulty she had been experiencing with getting her frontal to sit properly.

“The wedding is finally over and I’m super happy. I’m proud of myself and my husband,” she said.

Addressing those who linked her haircut to marriage rites, Jarvis said, “For those of you speculating that I barbed my hair for my wedding as part of some tribal marriage rites, shut up.”

She explained, “I barbed my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be perfect. That is what my hair stylist recommended because I have a very stubborn hair.”

According to her, the decision was also influenced by the difficulty she had experienced with her frontal and front hair.

“Most of my hair, like my frontal, has not been sitting pretty because of my front hair,” she added.

Jarvis and Peller traditionally tied the knot on August 1, 2026, before celebrating their white wedding on Saturday, August 8.
